Peru

Peru is a country located in western South America, bordered by Ecuador and Colombia to the north, Brazil to the east, Bolivia to the southeast, Chile to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The capital and largest city is Lima. Peru is known for its diverse geography, which includes the Andes mountains, the Amazon rainforest, and the Pacific coast. The country has a rich cultural heritage, with influences from indigenous peoples, Spanish colonialism, and African slaves. The economy of Peru is largely based on mining, with significant contributions from agriculture and tourism. It is one of the world's largest producers of copper, gold, and silver, and has recently become a major exporter of natural gas. Peru has experienced sustained economic growth in recent years, but still faces challenges related to poverty and income inequality. Peru is a presidential representative democratic republic, with the President serving as both the head of state and head of government. It has a multi-party system and a tradition of democracy. However, the country also faces challenges related to corruption and organized crime, particularly in the drug trade.
