Cambodia

Cambodia is a country located in Southeast Asia, bordered by Thailand to the northwest, Laos to the northeast, Vietnam to the east, and the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest. Its capital and largest city is Phnom Penh. Cambodia has a rich cultural heritage, including the ancient Khmer Empire, which built the world-renowned temples of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom. The country also has a tragic history, including the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, which resulted in the deaths of an estimated 1.7 million people. The economy of Cambodia is largely based on agriculture, with rice being the main crop. The country has also developed a growing tourism industry, attracting visitors to its historic sites, natural beauty, and vibrant culture. The official language is Khmer, and Buddhism is the predominant religion. Cambodia is a constitutional monarchy, with a King as the head of state and a Prime Minister as the head of government. The country has made significant progress in reducing poverty and improving social and economic indicators in recent years, but still faces significant development challenges, particularly in terms of corruption, education, and healthcare.
