Rahul Dravid is a former Indian cricketer and one of the greatest batsmen in the history of the sport. He was born on January 11, 1973, in Indore, India. Dravid made his debut for the Indian cricket team in 1996 and went on to have a highly successful career, scoring 13,288 runs in Test matches and 10,889 runs in One Day Internationals. He is considered one of the greatest Test batsmen of all time and was known for his technical proficiency, patience, and consistency. Dravid was also an exceptional fielder, known for his safe pair of hands and his ability to take spectacular catches. He was a versatile player, able to bat anywhere in the middle order and even open the batting in One Day Internationals. After retiring from cricket, Dravid became a highly respected coach and mentor. He has worked with the Indian Under-19 team and was the head coach of the India A and India Under-19 teams. He is currently the Director of Cricket Operations at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore. Dravid has been awarded numerous honors for his contributions to Indian cricket, including the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan. He is widely admired for his sportsmanship, integrity, and humility both on and off the field.
