Thalassa(Neptune's moon)

Thalassa is the second innermost moon of Neptune and was also discovered by the Voyager 2 spacecraft in 1989. It is named after the sea goddess in Greek mythology. Thalassa is a small, irregularly shaped moon that is about 82 kilometers (51 miles) in diameter. It orbits Neptune at a distance of about 50,000 km (31,000 miles) and completes one orbit in about 7 hours and 30 minutes. Thalassa is one of the seven inner moons of Neptune that orbit very close to the planet and are collectively known as the "Neptunian ring system". Like Naiad, not much is known about Thalassa's surface features or composition, as it has only been observed from a distance by the Voyager 2 and the Hubble Space Telescope.
