Adrastea

Adrastea is one of the moons of Jupiter and was discovered in 1979 by the Voyager 2 spacecraft. It is a small moon with a diameter of approximately 20 km and orbits Jupiter at a distance of about 129,000 km. Adrastea is one of the four inner moons of Jupiter and is part of a group known as the "Amalthea group", which also includes Metis, Amalthea, and Thebe. Adrastea is irregularly shaped and has a heavily cratered surface. Its orbit is within Jupiter's ring system, and it has been shown to be the main source of material for the ring system. Adrastea's name comes from Greek mythology and refers to the daughter of Jupiter who was pursued by the goddess Nemesis.
