Aegaeon(Saturn's moon)

Aegaeon (also spelled as Aigaion or Aegion) is a moon of Saturn. It was discovered in 2008 by the Cassini spacecraft and is named after a hundred-armed giant from Greek mythology. Aegaeon is a small moon, only about 1 kilometer in diameter, and it orbits Saturn at a distance of about 167,500 kilometers. It has a very irregular shape and is covered in craters and other features that suggest it has been impacted many times over its history. Aegaeon is part of a group of small moons that orbit Saturn within the planet's G ring. This ring is thought to be composed of debris from these moons, which are continually bombarded by micrometeoroids and other small objects in the Saturn system. Although Aegaeon is too small and too distant to be studied in great detail, its discovery and the study of its orbit and composition have provided important insights into the formation and evolution of the Saturn system as a whole.
